We opened Rise in Durham in 2012 with a simple vision…serve great food at an affordable price point, made with premium quality ingredients by people who care. In other words, not your typical breakfast spot! Since then, we've expanded to locations in Morrisville and North Raleigh, with new stores on the way in Raleigh, Downtown Durham, and Carrboro.

Our donut menu features an assortment of old school, new school, and specialty donuts with interesting and unusual flavors. Our biscuit menu features everyday favorite fillings like country ham, bacon, sausage, fried chicken, and fried eggplant "bacon," as well as a variety of cheeses, spreads, and eggs. You choose it, we'll make it. Our biscuit and donut specialty offerings change monthly, and each Rise location features its own, unique specialty biscuit & donut each month.

  • Before opening his tiny biscuit and doughnut shop in 2012, chef Tom Ferguson drove cross-country to sample the best of both comfort foods, and came back inspired. His huge, flaky biscuits are served with unusual combinations of local toppings like fried green tomatoes and pimento cheese, or Big Spoon Roasters peanut butter with Farmer's Daughter jam. Daily sandwich specials (coq au vin, country-fried steak with gravy) usually sell out early.
